On Wednesday, December 03, 2014, Tacoma Fire Department
conducted a training burn at 3007 70th Avenue East, Fife.
Live fire training in a controlled environment is a valuable
tool to develop firefighting skills. Over 20 firefighters and staff participated
in a variety of drills throughout the day. Training objectives included
interior fire attack, hose handling, observing fire behavior, and deploying a Rapid Intervention Crew to rescue trapped firefighters.
TFD’s training center staff coordinated the regulatory aspects of the burn and there were no injuries to report.
