The free PulsePoint Respond mobile app is now available in Pierce County!

The PulsePoint Respond app alerts users to someone nearby experiencing a sudden cardiac arrest so that bystanders can initiate CPR earlier, more often, and increase the use of automated external defibrillators (AED) prior to emergency responders arriving on the scene. If administered immediately after sudden cardiac arrest, CPR can double or triple a person’s chance of survival.

“As we leverage technology to improve community safety, we expect this app will help crowdsource Good Samaritans in an effort to increase survival rates,” said Chief Toryono Green.

The app is available for both iOS and Android mobile devices in the App Store or Google Play.

Tacoma Fire Department also offers free CPR classes. For a class schedule, visit our CPR page.
