Narrative: At 12:10 p.m. Wednesday April 7, 2010, eight companies of Tacoma and South King Fire and Rescue firefighters, 5 engines, 1 ladder, 1 medic unit and command staff responded to a reported residential structure fire.
First arriving crews found the two story house fully involved, with fire showing from all sides of the house. The instability of the collapsing building lead the command staff to implement a defensive firefighting strategy. A master stream from the ladder company was set up and crews fought the fire from the exterior of the building and protected neighboring structures.
One occupant was injured in the fire and was transported to a local area hospital.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Narrative: At 4:03 p.m. Monday, April 5, eleven companies of Tacoma Firefighters- 5 Engines, 2 Ladders, 2 Medic Units and Command Staff responded to 3745 No. 30th Street for a reported residential structure fire with possible entrapment.
First arriving companies found a 2-story, residential structure with fire showing from the side of the residence and heavy smoke along the roof line. First arriving crews attacked the fire with hand lines and initiated search and rescue tactics. One occupant was found in a first floor bedroom and rescued from the residence. The patient was transported to a local area hospital.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
