House Fire on East 70th Street

Narrative: At 10:05 a.m. seven companies of Tacoma and Central Pierce Fire and Rescue Firefighters were dispatched to a reported residential house fire.

The first on-scene engine company arrived to find a heavily involved fire on the main floor and rear deck area of the 1,900 square foot rambler with a basement. Tactically, crews divided the incident into two operational zones, and attacked the fire with hand lines and conducted primary search and rescue.

The two occupants of the house escaped safely, and there were no injuries to report. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

UPDATE: The cause of the fire was failed electrical wiring, resulting in an estimated $200,000 dollars damage to the building and $100,000 damage to it's contents.
